Dr Jeetah was elected Member of the National Assembly in December 2003 for the first time for Constituency No.7 (Piton/Rivière du Rempart), and remained so until April 2005. Dr Jeetah was re-elected as: • Member of the National Assembly for Constituency No.11 (Vieux Grand Port-Rose Belle), in 2005 and became Minister of Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises, Commerce & Cooperatives (2005 to 2008).He became Minister of Health & Quality of Life (2008 to 2010). • Member of the National Assembly for Constituency No.10 (Montagne Blanche- GRSE)in 2010 and became Minister of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology till 2014. Participation in the Lindau Nobel Laureates Meeting – Physiology/Medicine
29 June – 4 July 2014
The Lindau Nobel Laureates meeting, which aims at bringing together young scientists from all over the world to meet and interact with Nobel laureates, is held annually in Lindau, Germany. The next meeting is scheduled from 29 June to 4 July 2014 on the theme of physiology/medicine.
The Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology, which is listed as one of the academic partners of the Lindau Nobel laureates meeting, proposes to nominate one candidate from Mauritius and will meet 50% of the cost of participation while the organisers will meet the remaining 50% of the cost.
In general, young scientists are eligible to be nominated if:
 they are under 35 years of age,
 they study, graduate or have graduated in physiology/medicine or closely related disciplines,
 they can provide records of distinctly above-average academic achievements, and
 they can provide at least one letter of recommendation.

www.lindau-nobel.org .The nomination process is web-based. Please note that a nomination does not necessarily lead to an invitation to participate in the meeting. The Organising Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings will only select the most talented applicants to participate. Applications will not be accepted after 31 October 2013.
Eligible candidates are invited to send their applications by email to the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology, on email address tertiary@mail.gov.mu by 24 October 2013 at latest. Applicants should send a letter of application, CV and their email address.
