Dr Jeetah was elected Member of the National Assembly in December 2003 for the first time for Constituency No.7 (Piton/Rivière du Rempart), and remained so until April 2005. Dr Jeetah was re-elected as: • Member of the National Assembly for Constituency No.11 (Vieux Grand Port-Rose Belle), in 2005 and became Minister of Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises, Commerce & Cooperatives (2005 to 2008).He became Minister of Health & Quality of Life (2008 to 2010). • Member of the National Assembly for Constituency No.10 (Montagne Blanche- GRSE)in 2010 and became Minister of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology till 2014. ‘Working Session with a delegation from China’

I had a fruitful working session with a delegation from China comprising of Presidents and Vice presidents of various universities, visiting Mauritius in the context of China’s Higher Education Exhibition. We discussed various possible avenues of cooperation and collaboration between our tertiary institutions in Mauritius and those of China.

I met with Mr. Daniel TAU, Executive Director of the Bostwana College of Distance and Open Learning (BODOCOL) accompanied by representatives of the Open University of Mauritius. The aim of the visit was to exchange information and explore mutually beneficial partnership with the Open University of Mauritius (OUM).


I met with Mr Stephane Angevin , Manager of Asyasys Technology ,Dr Vincent Staf ,Director General of IOB and representatives from the Board of Investment. The aim of the visit was to discuss a proposal for the setting up of a school of osteopathy in Mauritius.

I met with Dr. Morwamphaga Nkadimeng,Dy Director General, Health Care Services, Limpopo Province, Dr. Nomsa Dlamini, CEO, Sakhiwo Health Solutions, Mr.Johann Loubser, Financial Advisor, Sakhiwo Health Solutions and Mr. A.M.Johri of Anna Medical College and Research Centre .The aim of the visit was to discuss a proposal for the setting up of an Oncology Centre in Mauritius in collaboration with Sakhiwo Health Solutions, South Africa.
