This year’s World Water Day is on the theme “Water and Food Security” a theme chosen by the United Nations to focus on the increasing uncertainties relating to water supply and food production.  In this context I was at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre, in presence of eminent personalities. I am happy that the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre is a partner in hosting such an important event every year and will through its regular activities sensitise students on the value and importance of water. The research institutions falling under the aegis of my ministry will also continue to dedicate attention to the water issue and share their findings with the agencies concerned.
