I was at the Annual Prize Giving Ceremony of Dunputh Lallah State Secondary School at Curepipe. It was a very important event in the school calendar of activities as it provides an opportunity to recognize and reward students who have excelled in their respective fields during the past academic year. It is also meant to motivate the other students to perform better and follow the steps of their hardworking and deserving friends. I congratulate again all the students who have won prizes and, to those who have not been able to make it this time better luck next time. I wish also to encourage them to continue in their efforts and to tell them that the reward is not only in the outcome but also in the journey itself.

‘50th Anniversary of New Educational College’
It gave me an immense pleasure to be there today at the New Educational College in Bel Air for the ceremony to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the College. I extend my warmest congratulations and thanks to the Manager, the Rector, the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college for organizing this golden jubilee celebration. It is most praiseworthy to note that this college has over its 50 years of existence contributed in a very significant matter to provide secondary education to deserving students in the region. I thank the College for its contribution to the educational sector in Mauritius. Congratulations for this golden jubilee, and let this College march on a new dawn and continue to produce shining citizens and teachers in all its future educational endeavours!
