I inaugurated the YK Business School yesterday at Highlands. The Business School specializes in providing supported distance education at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels in the fields of business management and tourism. The launching of a new campus-based tertiary institution is always an occasion of great significance, especially in the world of education. YK Business School is a joint venture with South African partners, especially the Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) and the Regent Business School, which is presently equipped with modern school facilities and latest technology, and that the School has already a student population of about 1200 students since its inception in Mauritius. The Government of Mauritius has always laid great emphasis on the development of human resources in our development strategy. I extend my congratulations and best wishes to everyone associated with the School. I am confident that the YK Business School will grow to become a leading Business School and continue its good work by providing professional, educational and social opportunities for students and alumni that will facilitate a lifelong relationship with each other and I also hope that this tertiary institution will produce many leaders of Mauritius of tomorrow. I wish them all success in their noble endeavours.
