I thank all those for joining us for the launching
of the first National Science Week. This First National Science Week for year
2013 is being organized jointly by the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre and the
Mauritius Research Council. Government has allocated a special budget for this
activity which we will organize in all the districts of Mauritius and in Rodrigues.
I have to thank all the ministries, the departments and the private sector
organisations which are participating in this event. An important aspect of the
Science Week is to show the practical importance of Science and Technology in
various sectors of the Mauritian economy. We have a common
commitment, and it is to ensure a better, healthier and wealthier future for
our children and their children. To that end, there can be no compromise; and I
can assure you that, as a Government, we shall continue
to do our utmost best to achieve the objectives.
