I thank the East, Central and South African College of Nursing and the Mauritius Nursing Association for the invitation to the Opening Ceremony of its 10th Scientific Conference. I wish to congratulate the Nursing Association for its commitment to promote continuous learning and research in nursing and midwifery education. The themes chosen for this conference are, in fact, very important for the health care management systems of our countries. Improving maternal and child health care, strengthening health systems and improving primary health care are all critical for ensuring that our population lead a healthy life. We are looking forward to increase collaboration with regional institutions and would be pleased to consider collaboration with ECSACON to promote health education and strengthen the capacity of nursing professionals in Mauritius. A warm welcome to all the delegates from Africa!
