I
proceeded to the launching of the workshop for Science Educators today at the
Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre. I would like to invite suggestions and proposals
from the participants on how we can increase interest for science subjects at
school and make learning of science
more attractive and exciting. They should tell us
about the best strategies the teacher can adopt for disseminating their scientific
knowledge and how my Ministry, the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre, the Mauritius
Research Council can support them, teachers to attract more students towards
the scientific fields. I invite all
other secondary schools to participate in this type of workshop and to request
the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre to organize more activities for science
educators on a regional basis and even consider awarding a Best Science Educators Award every year to give recognition to the formidable
work being carried out by educators in the teaching of Science.I wish them all fruitful interactions.
