‘Half-Day Workshop’

I  launched a Half-Day workshop on ‘Cross-collaborative research exercise on the Impact of Road Traffic on the Economy, Environment and Health in Mauritius’, held at the Bonâme Hall, MSIRI, Réduit. This is the second of five major National Research Groups that my Ministry is setting up with a major focus towards  improving our quality of living in Mauritius. The first one recently launched was the National Research Group on Water Resources, and the remaining 3 National Research Group initiatives will be subsequently launched in the areas of Human Resoures, Renewable Energies and Food & Health. The purpose of each of these National Research Group initiatives is to find practical solutions, from a research perspective, to major issues/problems that we are confronted with as a nation on a daily basis. I understand that experts and specialists in this area will be working on concrete solutions that will improve our economy, the environment and the health of our citizens. I would like to wish this Research Group fruitful deliberations and I look forward to reading its report and seeing concrete and implementable recommendations soon.
