‘Launching of the SET WEEK 2011’

I proceeded to the launching of the 3rd Edition of Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) Week 2011 at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre.  The SET Week was first held as a SADC event in October 2009, in line with the Protocol on Science, Technology and Innovation which is the main instrument for the SADC Region to encourage and promote science, engineering and technology as a cross-cutting sector for sustainable development and welfare. Following the success of the first SADC SET Week, Government decided to organize a National SET Week on an annual basis to provide a forum for exchanges on matters related to science, engineering and technology. I wish to thank all the Ministries, organisations and institutions for their contribution to this important event.
