I met with Mr. Brett Twaits and Ms. Johanna Moyano, representatives from Fortune magazine of the Global Business Worldwide. They are interested to know more about the setting up of the knowledge hub.
Dear Rajesh, I feel the need to inform you the media reality: These people you met are only interested in advertising revenue, unless you have provided them with an advertising contract, your interview has been a waste of time.
Mr. Twaits and Ms Moyano have nothing to do with Fortune Magazine. The company they represent "Global Business" ( which is actually based in Barcelona Spain, and use many other agency names linking them to TIME, CHINA DAILY, BusinessWeek, Japan Times, etc etc and etc) actually purchase pages from the advertising department at agency rate ( less 30%- 50% of ratecard) and then resell the pages to less fortunate clients in less developed counties like Mauritius by means of a "Country Report" @ 10 times the cost.
Mauritius, under your Prime Minister needs to be aware of the overall Government expenditure in these "international" media projects. Paying over 150,000 USD between government departments and public companies for a 1 or 2 page article on Mauritius in a single magazine is a demanding and painful expense, especially when the actual worth is much less than 28,000 USD.
