‘Masters Course in Public Health at the University of Mauritius’

 

I met with Mr. Reetoo Banarsee, Director School of Public Health at Imperial College, London and Dr .S. Goorah MBBCh, MRCP, Head of Department of Medicine at the University of Mauritius, to discuss about the introduction of a Masters Course in Public Health at the University of Mauritius, due to start during this academic year.

Am leading a delegation to Kenya and Tanzania as from 22nd to 28th of January 2011 with the aim of attracting students from these countries.

I met with Mr. Brett Twaits and Ms. Johanna Moyano, representatives from Fortune magazine of the Global Business Worldwide. They are interested to know more about the setting up of the knowledge hub.

I met with Ms. Sandra Vegting, Australian High Commissioner in my office to discuss areas of collaboration between Mauritius and Australia in the field of Tertiary Education including the setting up of Australian universities in Mauritius.

‘9th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in New Delhi, India’

I shall be in New Delhi to attend the ‘9^th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’ (PBD). I am looking forward to extend further collaborative ventures between my ministry and Indian institutions of tertiary education. The PBD agenda includes interaction with top Indian Ministers, State Chief Ministers and officials as well as prominent Overseas Indians in a structured and productive manner.
