Dr Jeetah was elected Member of the National Assembly in December 2003 for the first time for Constituency No.7 (Piton/Rivière du Rempart), and remained so until April 2005. Dr Jeetah was re-elected as: • Member of the National Assembly for Constituency No.11 (Vieux Grand Port-Rose Belle), in 2005 and became Minister of Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises, Commerce & Cooperatives (2005 to 2008).He became Minister of Health & Quality of Life (2008 to 2010). • Member of the National Assembly for Constituency No.10 (Montagne Blanche- GRSE)in 2010 and became Minister of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology till 2014. R. Jeetah Minister of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology. The ‘Open University’ is an institution specialised in distance learning in United Kingdom.

International Conference on ‘MILLENNIUM GOALS REVISITED: Transforming Teaching, Learning and Leadership in Commonwealth contexts





The University of Cambridge, Faculty of Education is holding an International Conference in Mauritius from the 29th of June to 1st of July 2010 on ‘ MILLENNIUM GOALS REVISITED : Transforming Teaching, Learning and Leadership in Commonwealth contexts ‘ at Le Mauricia Hotel Grand Bay. On that occasion were present Dr the Hon. R. Jeetah Minister of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology, Mr Mike Younger Director Centre for Commonwealth Education/Head of the University of Cambridge Faculty Of Education and other personalities. The aim of the conference is to identity new principles and practices that will serve to build capacity in sustainable ways and the intention is to draw together the various perspectives and to seek new insights and directions through a volume edited by the Centre for Commonwealth Education.
