- Dr Jeetah was elected Member of the National Assembly in December 2003 for the first time for Constituency No.7 (Piton/Rivière du Rempart), and remained so until April 2005. Dr Jeetah was re-elected as: • Member of the National Assembly for Constituency No.11 (Vieux Grand Port-Rose Belle), in 2005 and became Minister of Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises, Commerce & Cooperatives (2005 to 2008).He became Minister of Health & Quality of Life (2008 to 2010). • Member of the National Assembly for Constituency No.10 (Montagne Blanche- GRSE)in 2010 and became Minister of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology till 2014. ‘ Recognition Ceremony ‘ at Mohit Hall, St Pierre
Dr the Hon. R. Jeetah Minister of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology attended a ‘Recognition Ceremony’ organised by the ‘SAKET’ (The Social Awakening for knowledge through Education and Technology) at Mohit Hall, St Pierre. On that particular occasion certificates were awarded to Professionals, School Certificate and Higher School Certificate students.
Setting up of Post Secondary Educational Institute in Mauritius
Mr. D.Painuly and Mr. S.Khatri, representatives from the Indian Business School met with the Hon. Dr R. Jeetah Minister of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology, to discuss for the setting up of Post Secondary Educational Institute in Mauritius. The Indian Business School was established in 1985 in India and it offers high-quality programs in different areas of management to a cross-section of students, executives and professionals across India.
‘Workshop on On-Line Library ‘
I proceeded to the opening of the ‘Workshop on On-Line Library ‘organised by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) at Four Points, Sheraton, Ebene. With a view to democratize access to knowledge, the Tertiary Education Commission has recently subscribed to two e-journal databases namely, Emerald and EBSCO as part of its ‘Central On-line library’ project. On that occasion were present , Mr.E.Broug Vice President Operations – Asia East & Africa, Emerald Group of Publishing Limited, Mrs. C.Mills Regional Sales Manager EBSCO Publishing and other eminent personalities.
