This initiative of my Ministry in collaboration
with the Mauritius Research Council, is meant to specially recognize and reward
the work of the best Mauritian scientist. The award was launched in May 2011 to
acknowledge the scientific achievements of researchers and to encourage them to
continue to strive for excellence in their careers. The award is meant to
reflect their contribution to the advancement of Natural and Social sciences
and its impact on the socio-economic development of Mauritius.
