‘Launching of the Intellectual Property Promotion Scheme’

 

 

 

 

 

 

I launched the Intellectual Property Promotion Scheme (IPPS) in collaboration between the MRC, operating under the aegis of my Ministry, and the Industrial Property Office. The essence of this collaboration is the facilitation by the MRC, of the protection of intellectual property (IP) of individuals, entrepreneurs, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), industry, scientists and researchers in Mauritius. I hope that it will assist more scientists, researchers, companies and inventors to develop, manage, and protect their IP.

I launched the 7th ARICEA (Association of Regulators of Information and Communications of Eastern and Southern Africa) Annual General Meeting which is being held from 17^th to 18^th of March 2011 at Le Maritime Hotel, Balaclava. ARICEA is an international conference where around 49 delegates from overseas are participating. The aim of the meeting is to discuss issues such as Next Generation Network, infrastructure sharing, consumer protection, digital broadcasting migration, post codes and addresses and other challenges that regulators in COMESA region have to face.
