‘Collaborative Mauritius (CM) Network (MoU Handing-Over Ceremony)’

It was a pleasure for me to be in the important event regarding the handing over of the Collaborative Mauritius Network MoU document to the eight signatory partnering institutions this morning.  I congratulate each of these institutions for the belief they have in collaborative work for a better future of the country. The Collaborative Mauritius (CM) Network is an initiative that aims to consolidate multi-lateral institutional collaboration among key Mauritian organisations from the academic, research and industry sectors to enhance the local Innovation climate.  I wish to welcome Ms. Tess Julian’s and Dr. Chris Vearing (Ratio, Australia) and Mr. Grant Kearney’s (CEO of Connected Knowledge Australia Ltd) whose interventions will therefore assist in the implementation of the CM Network, and enhance the cross-institutional mechanisms that will need to be put in place in order to make our new Innovation System sustainable over the long term. My Ministry anticipates that this Collaborative Open Innovation Platform will result by the end of this year in the emergence of at least 4 commercially successful projects from which associated benefits will flow, i.e. creation of new knowledge and wealth.
